STABLE WORMING PROGRAM #1
NB: Tapeworm dosing is not at 6 month intervals but the protocol concentrates the worming over the summer grazing period
1st April All horses are wormed with Equimax
8th June All horses are individually worm counted
15th June Any horses with a count greater than 200epg are wormed with Eraquell
25th August All horses are individually worm counted
1st September Any horses with a count greater than 200epg are wormed with Eraquell
15th November All horses over 4yrs of age are wormed with Equimax. All horses under 4yrs of age are wormed with Equest Pramox Horses must be dosed accurately to weight, preferably using a weigh tape to estimate their weight. This is particularly important when using Equest Pramox.
Do not allow cats or dogs access to the worming products. Any unusually high worm egg counts should be discussed with your vet. Foal worming programs should be discussed individually with your vet. However, a reasonable protocol would be to worm for the first summer at 1, 3 and 5 months of age with a single dose of Panacur equine paste and then enter the foal into the above program for the 15th November dosing. New horses arriving on the stable should be wormed on arrival with Equest Pramox and stabled for 3 days before turnout. The horse should then be integrated into the stable worming program
